PS: For a snack the other day during recipe testing (like we need snacks!), Patti made us one of her secret indulgences: chocolate sandwiches. She broke a thin bar of chocolate in half and stuck the pieces between slices of warm baguette. Très French…and a very dangerous little habit it is, too…

The first season of French Food at Home launches this month on Food Network Canada. Meanwhile, I am in the throes of developing season two. For the past month, I’ve been testing a new batch of recipes with the show’s food-producer, Patti Hetherington. It’s a marathon trying to make (and taste) several show’s worth of dishes at once, but we’re having a blast, and we are very excited about the food.

As soon as we wrap up this phase and I’ve sent off my scripts, I’m heading to France and Italy for a couple of months (all in the name of professional development, of course). I’ll be sure to write with plenty of gossip from an enchanting location soon!
