Teacups

My parents just shipped me a crate of splendid old teacups for a present.  Their house has always taken tea-drinking seriously and I suppose they had a hard time imaging how I could ever possibly survive in my new place unless I had proper cups for my favourite drink. I like my morning tea from a more modern cup, to be honest, but after-dinner tea needs proper teacups.  If you’re teacup hunting yourself, know that they are very expensive in antique shops, but go for nothing at auction.  Along with heavy mahogany dining sets, nobody wants to bother with teacups anymore.  It’s a pity, because they are so feminine and delightful, especially when each one is unique.  I know espresso in demi tasses is the correct thing for after dinner, but I have switched now to serving herbal infusions in teacups instead and I love it.
