Hand-stamped Business Cards
I am a total junkie when it comes to beautiful paper products, so I was in seventh heaven when I discovered Gianni Basso in Venice (Gianni Basso Stampatore in Venezia, Cannaregio, F. Nove, Calle del Fumo, 5306, 30121, Venezia). Gianni’s shop is the only one on a street about two meters wide, and it is a veritable living museum full of old-fashioned printing tools. He has drawer upon drawer of lettering stamps in various fonts and he presses all his stationery by hand. I treated myself to new business cards, which I am madly in love with. I got nothing but my initials printed on them because I like to write my numbers and addresses by hand. It’s a nice personal touch, I think, but also I like the practice because it allows you to tailor your contact information to whomever you’re giving a card to.)
